Always the most elegant of the single vineyard releases, the 2006 Gigondas Le Poste is almost all Grenache and comes from a steep, terraced vineyard located just beside the estate. Reminding me of a beautifully mature red Burgundy with its sweet cherry and currants fruits, spice-box, forest floor, camphor and dried flowers, it hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, silky tannin, a great mid-palate and no shortage of length on the finish. Pure class all the way, enjoy this beauty anytime over the coming decade.
