Tasting Notes
|
"Perhaps the warmer vintages benefit Garnacha as it is a grape that likes heat more than Tempranillo, especially in Rioja Baja where the Cecias vineyard is. This is evident in the 2011 Cecias, a bright ruby-coloured wine that is a little darker than your average Garnacha. It opens to a subtle and harmonious nose of red and black fruit accented by nicely integrated wood. The juicy palate is polished and soft, more Garnacha than in the nose, and has a slightly warm finish. Somehow I like this 2011 better than the 2012. 5,080 bottles and 100 magnums produced. "
