Pink prosecco has been given the green light for export by the European Union, with producers wasting no time in shipping the Italian sparkler to overseas markets.  

“With this opportunity we expect to add a worthy development to the denomination with a high quality product, best expressing the environmental factors that characterize our territory,” said the Prosecco DOC consortium in a statement.  

為了減少意大利酒商未能把酒運至世界各地的浪費，歐盟決定為酒商開綠燈，允許玫瑰氣泡酒(Pink prosecco) 進口。Prosecco DOC 財團於聲明提到：「我們希望藉著是次機會增加產品的價值增長，及展現當地的風土人情。」

Grocery discount retailer Aldi was one of the first to stock the pink fizz, selling its first bottles of pink Prosecco in the UK for £6.49 a bottle.   “Prosecco is one of our best sellers and shoppers can’t seem to get enough of pink wines so far this year, so a Prosecco that’s pink is sure to get the nation popping bottles,” said managing director of buying at Aldi UK Julie Ashford.

Producers, who are expecting massive demand for the product, had already sold the vast majority of stock before the wine was even made. To be able to be called rosé Prosecco DOC the wine must be aged for at least 60 days and include 10 – 15% Pinot Noir in the blend. Around 20m bottles of pink Prosecco have been distributed with the national borders in the on and off trade. 

氣泡酒生產商，期望有大量銷量，已就玫瑰氣泡酒出售酒花。若要稱之為玫瑰氣泡酒DOC, 該酒必需熟成至少60日，包括10-15%黑皮諾。市面上已有約 二千萬枝玫瑰氣泡酒流通。

“Of the 486 million bottles produced, about 80% of them are exported, and, thanks to European recognition, it is estimated that sales will find greater stimulus and vigour in the last quarter of 2020,” said Stefano Zanette, president of the Prosecco DOC.   “I congratulate those producers who have shown themselves to be very ready to seize this opportunity, committing themselves right away so as not to be caught unprepared,” he added.

而香港一直有進口意大利玫瑰氣泡酒，亦非常受酒友歡迎。其中Pinewood Wine獨家代理品牌亦經常受到追捧，分別是Oca Rosa Extra Dry Vino Frizzante及Punto Rosa Brut Spumante。前者是一款微氣泡酒，通常用作餐前酒，或配以夏日小吃，例如沙律，三文魚吐司。後者屢獲殊榮，是氣泡酒愛好者必備之選。它經過60日發酵，令它更有層次。除了作餐前酒，也可配搭輕芝士，西班牙風乾火腿。
