    CALM STYLE
    Since 1952
The Cantina Produttori di Valdobbiadene - VAL D'OCA is located in a beautiful setting amid rolling hills between Asolo and Conegliano at the foot of the Treviso pre-Alps. Established in 1952, the consortium currently groups together 576 growers and 714 hectares of vineyards - a major wine-making body at both local and national level.
The Prosecco production area is located in the North-eastern area of Italy, between Veneto and Friuli, one of the most beautiful areas of the Italian peninsula.

The Unesco site includes the hilly belt of the province of Treviso, which extends eastward from the municipality of Valdobbiadene to the Mmunicipality of Vittorio Veneto, or a substantial portion of the Valdobbiadene Conegliano Prosecco Superiore DOCG vineyard landscape, comprising 15 municipalities for a total of almost 19 thousand hectares.

    History

The Cantina Produttori di Valdobbiadene represents the story of a choral enterprise, a real social initiative born in 1952, thanks to the will of 129 founding members, farmers in post-war Italy, animated by the desire to rebuild the territory and the economy marked by the devastating wounds of the Second World War. Those 129 founding member decided, together, to join forces to give life to the brilliant intuition that embodied then as now the strong spirit of cooperation that unites 600 winemaking member today.
    Insight

For many years, the Cantina Produttori di Valdobbiadene - VAL D'OCA has been pursuing the goal of producing quality wines with the aim of promoting the produce of its members, fostering awareness of the investments made in terms of money and human effort, and communicating its upgrade programme in order to ensure that consumers fully realise that all production stages, from grape growing to bottling of wine are performed with care and skill. For this reason, besides obtaining ISO 9000 certification in February 2002, initiatives have been undertaken in order to improve wine production with:

    - Satelite mapping of members' vineyards

    - Technical and advisory backing provided by trained agronomists

    - Training and update courses for growers

    - Selections of crus from areas with a vocation for the production of fine grapes

    - Implementation of the BIO product for reconcerting 5 hectares of vineyard from traditional farming to organic farming.

    Sustainability

The quality of the raw material (165,000 potential quintals of grapes harvested by the members and transformed every year, of which 90% is represented by Glera, the grape suitable for the production of Prosecco Superiore DOCG and Prosecco DOC) depends on the excellence of the wine. Since its foundation, the group has supported economic growth by guaranteeing adequate remuneration for winegrowing members and creating local employment. A criterion for the enhancement of the productions through a reward based on a real zoning of relevance, which also provides for rewarding for the certified organic and historic DOCG types (the latter ampelographic base with Perera, Bianchetta and Verdiso wines in addition to the classic Glera), encourages members to guarantee high quality raw materials and to implement the best agricultural practices available.
